Roxanne Lamothe

Roxanne’s passion for horses began in childhood, riding ponies on her grandparents’ farm and dreaming of having a horse of her own. That dream eventually came true when her family purchased a pony to share among the siblings. As a teenager, she welcomed her first horse and began competing at local shows in hunter/jumper and pleasure disciplines before discovering a passion for dressage in her early twenties.

To further her dressage education, Roxanne moved to Maple Ridge, British Columbia, where she trained and competed throughout the Lower Mainland dressage community. After returning to Fort St. John, she took time away from competitive riding to focus on raising her family.

Her love of horses remained a constant, and she returned to the equestrian world when her daughters joined Pony Club, allowing them to share the rewards and experiences of horsemanship together. In 2014, Roxanne relocated to the Okanagan region of British Columbia, where a growing interest in equine hoof health, inspired by her Morgan-cross mare, Foxy Lady (“Vixen”), led her to become a certified barefoot trimmer.

As her knowledge of equine health and biomechanics expanded, Roxanne recognized the important role that comfortable, well-fitted tack plays in a horse’s welfare and performance. Pursuing education in bit and bridle fitting became a natural extension of her commitment to helping horses achieve greater comfort, communication, and well-being.
